BASA cure Sagl was formally incorporated on 23 August 2021 in Lugano, Canton Ticino, Switzerland, under the unique identification number CHE-189.564.411. The practice was founded by Sascha Andrea Bajevic, an experienced healthcare professional with a deep commitment to advancing ambulatory and community-based health services in the Ticino region.

The name "BASA cure" encapsulates our founding philosophy: BASA represents our roots and identity, while "cure" reflects our fundamental purpose – to care, heal, and support every person who comes to us with trust and vulnerability. As a Sagl (Società a garanzia limitata), we operate with the transparency and accountability demanded by Swiss commercial law.

Our practice is positioned at the intersection of professional clinical healthcare and compassionate personal support, filling the vital gap between hospital-based treatment and fully independent living. We serve individuals across the full lifespan – from young adults managing chronic conditions, to elderly patients requiring daily support, to families navigating post-operative recovery.

Ambulatory Health Care Services

Ambulatory healthcare – the provision of medical and nursing services outside of hospital inpatient settings – is at the heart of everything BASA cure Sagl does. Our ambulatory services allow patients to receive professional healthcare in their homes, at our practice, or in community settings, eliminating the disruption and cost associated with hospital stays.

Our ambulatory care encompasses diagnostic assessments, routine health monitoring, medication administration, wound management, chronic disease management programs, post-hospital discharge support, and preventive health interventions. Each service is carefully planned and executed according to current Swiss clinical guidelines.

We coordinate directly with hospitals, general practitioners, and specialist physicians in Lugano and across Ticino to ensure seamless continuity of care, clear communication of clinical findings, and collaborative decision-making in the best interest of each patient.

Other Health Practitioner Office Services

As a registered office of health practitioners, BASA cure Sagl provides a broad range of services administered by non-physician healthcare professionals – including registered nurses, specialised nursing practitioners, medical assistants, health educators, and care coordinators.

These services include clinical assessments and vital sign monitoring, patient health education and self-management coaching, wound dressing and stoma care, injection and infusion therapy, catheter care, ostomy care, enteral feeding support, medication reconciliation, and a wide variety of diagnostic support services in collaboration with physician teams.

All services are provided under appropriate professional supervision, with clear documentation, regular progress reporting to referring practitioners, and strict adherence to Swiss healthcare regulations, including requirements under the Health Professions Act (GesBG) and applicable cantonal law.

Skilled Nurses & Medical Assistants

BASA cure Sagl employs and coordinates a dedicated team of registered nurses (RNs), specialised nursing practitioners, and qualified medical assistants who represent the backbone of our care delivery. Each team member is carefully selected not only for their clinical competency, but for their empathy, communication skills, and genuine commitment to patient wellbeing.

Our nurses hold certifications recognised by Swiss health authorities and are registered with relevant professional bodies. Many hold specialist qualifications in areas such as oncology nursing, wound care, gerontological nursing, cardiac care, and palliative medicine, enabling BASA cure Sagl to address a wide range of complex clinical needs.

Medical assistants at BASA cure Sagl (Medizinische Praxisassistentinnen/Praxisassistenten) hold the Swiss federal certificate (Eidgenössisches Fähigkeitszeugnis, EFZ) and provide vital support across clinical procedures, patient administration, equipment management, and health education activities.

Together, our nursing and medical assistant team delivers over 2,000 care episodes annually across Lugano and the surrounding Ticino communities, building lasting therapeutic relationships with patients and their families based on trust, competence, and genuine care.

KVG / LAMal Basic Insurance

In Switzerland, all residents are required by law to hold basic health insurance (Grundversicherung / assurance de base) under the Federal Health Insurance Act (KVG/LAMal). This mandatory insurance covers a defined set of healthcare services, including many community nursing and ambulatory health care services, when appropriately prescribed by a licensed physician.

BASA cure Sagl is positioned to bill for qualifying nursing services under KVG/LAMal when a valid medical prescription (Ärztliches Verordnung / prescription médicale) has been issued. Our nursing services may be covered under Article 25a KVG, which specifically addresses nursing care in the home and in nursing homes, as well as under TARMED billing codes for medical practitioner services.

The amount covered by your basic insurer depends on your specific policy, your chosen deductible (Franchise), your annual co-payment cap, and whether you have selected a managed care model. BASA cure Sagl will always provide a clear estimate of expected costs before commencing services and will submit bills directly to your insurer where possible.
