BASA cure Sagl was formally incorporated on 23 August 2021 in Lugano, Canton Ticino, Switzerland, under the unique identification number CHE-189.564.411. The practice was founded by Sascha Andrea Bajevic, an experienced healthcare professional with a deep commitment to advancing ambulatory and community-based health services in the Ticino region.
The name "BASA cure" encapsulates our founding philosophy: BASA represents our roots and identity, while "cure" reflects our fundamental purpose – to care, heal, and support every person who comes to us with trust and vulnerability. As a Sagl (Società a garanzia limitata), we operate with the transparency and accountability demanded by Swiss commercial law.
Our practice is positioned at the intersection of professional clinical healthcare and compassionate personal support, filling the vital gap between hospital-based treatment and fully independent living. We serve individuals across the full lifespan – from young adults managing chronic conditions, to elderly patients requiring daily support, to families navigating post-operative recovery.
BASA cure Sagl is fully registered and compliant with Swiss federal law governing healthcare entities, including TARMED billing regulations, KVG (Krankenpflegegesetz) requirements, and Swiss Data Protection Act (DSG) standards. All clinical staff hold recognized Swiss certifications and undergo continuous professional development.
Sascha Andrea Bajevic is the founding director of BASA cure Sagl and the visionary behind its patient-centred healthcare model. With years of hands-on experience in both clinical nursing and healthcare administration, Sascha brings a unique dual perspective to the practice – combining scientific rigour with genuine human empathy.
Having worked across multiple healthcare settings in Switzerland and internationally, Sascha identified a critical need for high-quality, accessible ambulatory and home-based care in the Lugano region. This insight led directly to the founding of BASA cure Sagl, which has since grown into a trusted provider for hundreds of patients across Ticino.
Sascha is deeply involved in day-to-day operations, clinical quality assurance, and team development. A firm believer in continuous learning, she ensures that all BASA cure Sagl practitioners remain at the forefront of healthcare innovation, best practices, and patient safety standards.
To deliver accessible, high-quality, and compassionate ambulatory healthcare services to individuals and families in Lugano and the wider Ticino region, empowering every patient to achieve optimal health and wellbeing within their community.
To become the leading community healthcare provider in Canton Ticino – recognised not only for clinical excellence but for the warmth, dignity, and respect with which we treat every single person in our care, setting the standard for ambulatory health services in Switzerland.
BASA cure Sagl provides a wide range of professional healthcare services, each delivered with clinical precision, ethical integrity, and genuine personal care.
Ambulatory healthcare – the provision of medical and nursing services outside of hospital inpatient settings – is at the heart of everything BASA cure Sagl does. Our ambulatory services allow patients to receive professional healthcare in their homes, at our practice, or in community settings, eliminating the disruption and cost associated with hospital stays.
Our ambulatory care encompasses diagnostic assessments, routine health monitoring, medication administration, wound management, chronic disease management programs, post-hospital discharge support, and preventive health interventions. Each service is carefully planned and executed according to current Swiss clinical guidelines.
We coordinate directly with hospitals, general practitioners, and specialist physicians in Lugano and across Ticino to ensure seamless continuity of care, clear communication of clinical findings, and collaborative decision-making in the best interest of each patient.
"BASA cure Sagl's ambulatory services bridge the critical gap between acute hospital care and independent living, providing the ongoing professional support that patients need to recover safely and maintain their health."
BASA cure Sagl recognises that good health is inseparable from broader social wellbeing. Our integrated Health Care and Social Assistance services address the full spectrum of patient needs – from clinical health interventions to social support, emotional wellbeing, and community integration.
Our practitioners work alongside social workers, community care coordinators, and family members to develop holistic support packages. This may include arranging home adaptations for safety, connecting patients with community resources, supporting mental health through structured check-ins, coordinating transportation to medical appointments, and liaising with cantonal health and social authorities on behalf of patients.
We are particularly experienced in supporting elderly patients, individuals with disabilities, patients managing complex chronic conditions, and those transitioning from hospital to home environments. Our approach is always person-centred, culturally sensitive, and dignity-preserving.
As a registered office of health practitioners, BASA cure Sagl provides a broad range of services administered by non-physician healthcare professionals – including registered nurses, specialised nursing practitioners, medical assistants, health educators, and care coordinators.
These services include clinical assessments and vital sign monitoring, patient health education and self-management coaching, wound dressing and stoma care, injection and infusion therapy, catheter care, ostomy care, enteral feeding support, medication reconciliation, and a wide variety of diagnostic support services in collaboration with physician teams.
All services are provided under appropriate professional supervision, with clear documentation, regular progress reporting to referring practitioners, and strict adherence to Swiss healthcare regulations, including requirements under the Health Professions Act (GesBG) and applicable cantonal law.

BASA cure Sagl employs and coordinates a dedicated team of registered nurses (RNs), specialised nursing practitioners, and qualified medical assistants who represent the backbone of our care delivery. Each team member is carefully selected not only for their clinical competency, but for their empathy, communication skills, and genuine commitment to patient wellbeing.
Our nurses hold certifications recognised by Swiss health authorities and are registered with relevant professional bodies. Many hold specialist qualifications in areas such as oncology nursing, wound care, gerontological nursing, cardiac care, and palliative medicine, enabling BASA cure Sagl to address a wide range of complex clinical needs.
Medical assistants at BASA cure Sagl (Medizinische Praxisassistentinnen/Praxisassistenten) hold the Swiss federal certificate (Eidgenössisches Fähigkeitszeugnis, EFZ) and provide vital support across clinical procedures, patient administration, equipment management, and health education activities.
Together, our nursing and medical assistant team delivers over 2,000 care episodes annually across Lugano and the surrounding Ticino communities, building lasting therapeutic relationships with patients and their families based on trust, competence, and genuine care.
All BASA cure Sagl nurses and medical assistants participate in regular mandatory training, skills refresher programs, clinical supervision, and ongoing professional development activities in accordance with Swiss nursing regulatory requirements. We invest substantially in the professional growth of our team to ensure clinical knowledge remains current and evidence-based.
Meticulous, secure, and confidential clinical documentation is maintained for every patient. Our electronic care records system complies with Swiss data protection law (DSG) and facilitates seamless information sharing with authorised healthcare providers. Clear, detailed nursing records ensure continuity of care across all team members and shifts.
BASA cure Sagl maintains strict infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols aligned with Swiss national guidelines and WHO standards. All nursing staff are trained in hand hygiene, personal protective equipment use, aseptic technique, and the management of patients with infectious conditions in both home and clinical settings.

Start Your Journey →Navigating health insurance in Switzerland can be complex. BASA cure Sagl is committed to full transparency in billing and will actively assist you in understanding and maximising your insurance entitlements.
In Switzerland, all residents are required by law to hold basic health insurance (Grundversicherung / assurance de base) under the Federal Health Insurance Act (KVG/LAMal). This mandatory insurance covers a defined set of healthcare services, including many community nursing and ambulatory health care services, when appropriately prescribed by a licensed physician.
BASA cure Sagl is positioned to bill for qualifying nursing services under KVG/LAMal when a valid medical prescription (Ärztliches Verordnung / prescription médicale) has been issued. Our nursing services may be covered under Article 25a KVG, which specifically addresses nursing care in the home and in nursing homes, as well as under TARMED billing codes for medical practitioner services.
The amount covered by your basic insurer depends on your specific policy, your chosen deductible (Franchise), your annual co-payment cap, and whether you have selected a managed care model. BASA cure Sagl will always provide a clear estimate of expected costs before commencing services and will submit bills directly to your insurer where possible.
"BASA cure Sagl strives to minimise out-of-pocket healthcare costs for patients. Our administrative team will guide you through insurance submission processes, obtain necessary prescriptions, and follow up on reimbursement claims on your behalf."
The table below provides a general guide to insurance coverage. Individual coverage varies by insurer and policy.
Many Swiss residents hold supplementary health insurance (Zusatzversicherung / assurance complémentaire) under the Insurance Contract Act (VVG/LCA). This type of insurance can significantly expand your entitlements for community nursing and ambulatory healthcare services beyond the basic KVG coverage.
Common supplementary plans may cover additional nursing hours per day, higher reimbursement rates for specialist nursing care, services in alternative medicine, extended preventive care programs, and accommodation costs during recovery. The specific benefits vary greatly by insurer and product tier.
Major Swiss health insurers with supplementary products relevant to our services include Helsana, Swica, CSS, Visana, Assura, Sympany, and others. BASA cure Sagl can work with all major Swiss insurers and will help you understand what your policy covers before beginning treatment.
BASA cure Sagl issues invoices in accordance with Swiss TARMED and nursing-specific billing standards. We provide itemised bills clearly describing each service rendered, the date and duration of each care episode, the billing code, and the amount charged.
For insured services with a valid prescription, BASA cure Sagl can submit bills directly to your health insurer on your behalf (Tiers payant model) where the insurer accepts direct billing. For services not covered by insurance or for the patient's co-payment portion, invoices are issued directly to the patient.
Payment is accepted by bank transfer to our Swiss account. Payment terms are 30 days from invoice date. For patients experiencing financial hardship, we encourage early discussion with our administrative team to explore available support options.

Before billable nursing services commence, we ensure that a valid physician's prescription is in place. For services requiring prior insurer authorisation, we manage this process on your behalf, liaising with your health insurer to obtain approval before beginning care.
All care episodes are fully documented in real time by our nursing staff, including the services rendered, time spent, clinical observations, and any materials used. This documentation forms the basis for accurate and transparent billing.
Monthly itemised invoices are generated and submitted to your health insurer (or directly to you for non-insured services). We use standardised Swiss billing formats (XML/PDF) compatible with all major insurers' processing systems.
Our administrative team monitors all outstanding insurance claims and follows up on delayed or queried payments. If your insurer disputes a claim, we provide supporting documentation and manage the appeals process, keeping you informed throughout.
Whether you are a prospective patient, a family member, a healthcare professional, or an insurer, we welcome your enquiry. Our team responds to all messages promptly and professionally.
